A fast-growing regulated organization in the online betting and gaming sector is seeking a Human Resources Manager to establish and lead the HR function from the ground up.
This is a hands-on high-impact role for an experienced HR professional who thrives in building structure enforcing compliance and shaping workplace culture in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to design people systems that support sustainable growth ethical operations and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
HR Setup & Strategy
Establish the HR function including policies procedures manuals and reporting structures
Develop HR policies compliant with Kenyan labor laws and industry regulations
Advise leadership on HR strategy workforce planning and organizational structure
Develop and manage the HR budget and recommend HR systems and tools
Prepare and present HR reports and insights to senior management and directors
Recruitment & Onboarding
Manage end-to-end recruitment across all departments
Develop job descriptions recruitment frameworks and hiring guidelines
Lead onboarding and induction programs
Maintain accurate employee records contracts and HR documentation
Employee Relations & Performance Management
Handle employee relations grievances and disciplinary matters
Design and implement performance management systems (KPIs appraisals feedback)
Conduct investigations and manage misconduct cases in line with employment law
Promote a positive compliant and high-performance culture
Compliance & HR Administration
Ensure compliance with Kenyan labor laws and statutory requirements
Manage statutory contributions (NSSF NHIF PAYE) in collaboration with Finance
Prepare for labor audits and regulatory inspections
Oversee payroll inputs leave management attendance and HR records
Training Culture & Governance
Identify and coordinate staff training and compliance programs
Promote ethical conduct professionalism and responsible workplace practices
Develop HR dashboards and people analytics for leadership decision-making
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management Business Administration or related field
Professional HR certification (IHRM CHRP CHRM or equivalent)
Full member of IHRM with a valid practicing certificate
57 years of hands-on HR experience including at least 2 years in a leadership role
Proven experience setting up an HR function from scratch
Strong knowledge of Kenyan labor laws
Experience in regulated sectors (betting gaming fin tech tech) is an added advantage.
