PURPOSE:

The FarmingInternship position ismeant to provide currentundergradstudentsan introduction to work through related experiences in their degree summer internship is a ten-to-twelve-week program in the months of are paid. Requests for college credit are supported.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Qualified to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship needed.
• Actively enrolled full-time collegestudentwith a relevant degree or concentration.
• Full time status is 12 or more credit hours.
• Must have an undergraduate classification.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Job duties will be dependent onindividualmanagerneeds.
• Internshipwill provide an overviewtothe Farming Departments function and basicday to dayjob responsibilities providingstudentsan exploratory environment in the early stages of their career development.
• Work may require team and independent tasks.
• Job duties will provide experience and opportunities to learn how to navigate in a professional organization build andleverageproblem solving skills apply educational knowledge within their department and develop soft skills in support of professional development.
• Operating farming machinery and various equipment/vehicles.
• Assistwith crop monitoring/scouting.
• Participate in food safety checks.
• Support seasonal farming operations.
• Perform manual labor tasks including weed removal field cleanup and general crop care

FARMINGINTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITES AVAILABLE WITHIN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The ability tofrequentlymove about inside the office and farming fields as needed. Ability tooperatea computer and other office productivity equipment. Occasionallymustbe able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to work outdoors. Must be able to workindifferent temperatures which range between 30 F and 110 F. Ability to inspect equipment and to operate farming equipment.
