CGL Claims Examiner II
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated CGL Claims Examiner II to join a team. This role involves efficiently and effectively managing commercial first-party property and third-party general liability claims in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in claims handling excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Compensation Package
- Salary: Up to $90000 annually
- Bonus: Target of 10% (not guaranteed)
- Profit Sharing: 5-12% in lieu of 401(k) match

Responsibilities
- Review and set up new loss assignments promptly adhering to department guidelines and best practices.
- Establish and regularly evaluate loss and expense reserves for accuracy and adequacy.
- Analyze and interpret policy language to determine appropriate coverage decisions.
- Draft coverage correspondence including reservation of rights and coverage disclaimers in compliance with state statutes and regulations.
- Manage claim files from inception to closure including investigation evaluation and resolution of claims.
- Document all claim file activity including strategies plans of action and exit plans.
- Demonstrate strong skills in coverage analysis investigation evaluation and negotiation.
- Oversee and manage activities and costs of external vendors including independent adjusters and legal counsel.
- Prepare and present detailed loss reports and participate in roundtable discussions with peers and management.
- Obtain and maintain required state adjuster licenses and comply with continuing education requirements.
- Participate in cross-departmental projects audits workshops and task forces as needed.
- Attend internal and external training events and provide feedback to peers and management.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance claims handling.
- Possession of required state adjuster licenses and compliance with continuing education requirements.
- Intermediate proficiency in computer programs within a Windows environment including Microsoft Word Excel and email.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence and reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with business users and external vendors.
- Proven ability to manage a caseload efficiently and resolve claims in a timely and cost-effective manner.
