About the role

We are currently recruiting a Senior Stakeholder Specialist to join the Stakeholder Relations team.


This role can be based anywhere withinEssential Energys operational footprint.

The Senior Stakeholder Specialist strengthens Essential Energys reputation by identifying opportunities to engage with key stakeholders managing external relationships and preparing highquality materials that support effective engagement. They respond to stakeholder enquiries deliver on agreed engagement priorities and provide strategic advice on engagement approaches content and delivery. Through all aspects of their work they ensure that Essential Energys external engagement is purposeful targeted and aligned with the organisations corporate priorities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and deliver on opportunities to support Essential Energys proactive engagement with key strategic stakeholders spanning local matters industry-specific issues and strategic organisation-wide priorities
  • Arrange meetings and prepare materials to support external engagement by Essential Energy Executives as well as Essential Energys multiple stakeholder and customer forums
  • Prepare responses to ad-hoc inquiries from government consumer community and industry stakeholders
  • Provide specialist advice across the business on external engagement approach content and delivery including during the development of regulatory proposals
  • Support preparation of monthly reporting requirements for the board and executive

About You

In order to be successful as Senior Stakeholder Specialist you will possess:

  • Professional experience in roles focusing on stakeholder engagement public affairs or communications
  • Experience working in a corporate business operations environment underpinned by business goals strategy and industry regulations that are required to meet the ongoing operational needs of the business
  • Professional interpersonal and written communications skills with ability to work in a collaborative manner with all business units stakeholders and customer representatives
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into accessible stakeholderfriendly language and deliver on firm deadlines with excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of issues facing the energy industry customers and regional NSW communities. Previous experience with policy and regulatory issues will be highly regarded.
  • Professional computer operational knowledge to develop high level documents and communicate with business units stakeholders and sponsors

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Communications or Public Affairs similar level qualification relevant to the position or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
