Veterinary Surgical Technician
NO WEEKENDS NO LATE-NIGHT SHIFTS
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Surgical and Anesthesia Technician who is dedicated to exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative team-oriented environment. What Youll Get To Do:
As a Veterinary Surgical Technician at SPCA Florida you will play an integral role in patient care and workflow efficiency. Our surgery technician team is fully utilized and trusted with a wide range of responsibilities including:
  • Surgical prep monitoring and recovery
  • Safe and accurate anesthesia administration
  • Preparation of patients for surgery - proper clipping prep/scrub and positioning
  • Experienced in taking radiographs and positioning
  • Blood draws catheter placement and diagnostic sample collection
  • Client education and communication
  • Supporting veterinarians in pre-surgical exams procedures and treatments
Youll be empowered to use your skills and encouraged to keep learning. Our team prioritizes mentorship continuing education and innovation in medical care.
What Were Looking For
  • Preferred BUT NOT required: CVT Graduate from an AVMAaccredited program ORexperience as a veterinary technician
  • The ideal candidate is a confident team player who is excited to advance their surgical/medical knowledge and is willing to provide input and ideas based on knowledge and prior experience.
  • Must be able to lift patients/equipment up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced and high-volume environment with minimal supervision
