Overview:
HTeaO a thriving franchise in the tea industry is growing fast and so is our need for a passionate and organized Accountant to help fuel that momentum! The ideal candidate will be an important part of our team as you perform core accounting functions ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting operational accounting tasks related to procurement inventory accounts payable accounts receivable and financial reconciliation. This role plays a key part in day-to-day accounting operations and month end close. You will have the ability to solve problems and think analytically while ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner. Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Assist with period-end close activities; including preparation of assigned account reconciliations journal entries accruals prepaid expenses inventory accounting and analyses in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and variance explanations for monthly flux analysis.
- Research and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.
Accounts Payable / Receivable
- Process vendor invoices expense reports and payments
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Generate customer invoices and monitor accounts receivable aging
- Follow up on overdue balances
Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Assist in inventory tracking and reconciliation with warehouse records
- Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory valuation
- Coordinate with operations and purchasing teams to resolve inventory issues
Operational Support
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather data align processes and improve workflows.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes procedures and internal controls by identifying and introducing new ideas and solutions to create efficiencies and streamline processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field.
- CPA candidate is a plus.
- 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience experience in distribution inventory or supply chain environments preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage Workday NetSuite or similar).
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Strong attention to detail time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in the details.
