Description of Work

Duties include performing survey work on complex construction projects supervising survey crews and lower-level technicians making independent decisions and communicating effectively with co-workers contractors personnel and the general public. When contract surveying is utilized the Survey Party Chief will be responsible for reviewing the contractors survey submittals and providing checks of their construction layouts in the field.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC14 $50633 - $88607

Management prefers applicants with the following:

Experience using surveying equipment instruments levels data collectors and GPS equipment

Experience with mathematical functions including algebra geometry and trigonometry

Experience in performing highway construction stakeouts

Experience in conducting independent moderately complex surveying

Computer experience including office software and drafting software

Minimum Education and Experience

Associates degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology or Survey Technology from an appropriately accredited institution and seven (7) years of progressive technician experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
