FORT WONDER SUMMER CAMPS

Camp Administrator

Fort Wonder is seeking qualified applicants to join our 2026 team! If you are a hard-working and collaborative team member who is passionate about working with children (Pre-K-5th grade) in an energetic summer camp environment and creating a summer full of memories for our campers (and yourself) we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Fort Wonder Site Director in delivering exceptional summer camp experiences for campers families and camp staff
  • Provide support to Day Camps and Specialty Camps staff. This includes substituting for counselors as needed in the classroom.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with supervisors and peers as issues arise
  • Assist with the oversight of camper lunch periods
  • Lead camp operations including preparation and distribution of camp supplies
  • Commitment to summer schedule as follows:
    • May 26-29: 8:00AM-4:00 PM camp training with 30 minute lunch break daily
    • June 1-July 17: 7:45 AM-4:00 PM Specialty Camps Monday through Friday with 30-minute lunch break daily. (NO camps June 19 or the week of June 29-July 3.)
    • July 20-July 31: 7:45 AM-12:00 PM OR 11:45 AM-4:00 PM Specialty Camp shift M-F
  • Pay Range: $15 per hour

Minimum qualifications:

  • High School graduate
  • At least one year of demonstrated experience managing groups of children and leadership experience in a summer camp setting
  • Must pass a criminal background check and positive verification of references

Physical demands:

  • Must be able to push pull carry and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions
