Your work will involve the process of continuous improvement and optimising of the managed services process tools and services.

Change & Release Manager-Job Description

Job Summary:

The role of a Change and Release Manager is to oversee and manage the process of implementing changes to an organizations IT systems. This includes planning scheduling coordinating and overseeing the implementation of changes to the organizations IT infrastructure applications and servicestominimize the risk of disruption and ensure that changes are delivered according to business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Change Management

  • Own and manage theend-to-end SAP change lifecycle(Normal Standard Emergency changes).

  • Ensure compliance withITIL Change Managementbest practices and organizational policies.

  • Chair CAB and fitness for launch release calls for GO/NO GO along with tech and business leaders.

  • Assesschange impact risk and dependenciesacross SAP modules

  • Chair and manageChange Advisory Board (CAB /eCAB)meetings.

  • Validate business justification technical readiness and rollback plans for all SAP changes.

  • Track and managechange collisions blackout periods and freeze windows.

  • Maintain change KPIs (success rate emergency changes failed changes).

  • Proven experience in managingteam& skilled and experienced problem solving.

Release Management

  • Plan and coordinateSAP release cycles(minor major patch support packs hotfixes).

  • Develop and maintainSAP release calendarsaligned with business priorities.

  • Coordinate releases acrossmultiple SAP systems(DEV QA PRE-PROD PROD).

  • Ensure alignment between SAP development BASIS testing and business teams.

  • Overseecutover planning go-live readiness andhypercaresupport.

  • Ensure releases are compliant with approval testing and documentation standards.

  • Manage dependencies with non-SAP systems and third-party vendors.

Governance Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Define document and improveChange & Release processesfor SAP.

  • Prepare dashboards and reports for:

  • Change success/failure rate

  • Emergency changes

  • Release quality metrics

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and downtime.

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews (PIRs) and root cause analysis.

Tools & Systems

  • Use ITSM tools such asServiceNow / Remedy / Jira Service Management.

  • LeverageSAP Solution Manageror similar toolfor change and release tracking.

  • Maintain documentation in knowledge management repositories.

Mandatory

  • 610 years of experience inChange & Release Management.

  • In-depthunderstanding ofITIL processes

  • Hands-on experience withServiceNowor equivalent ITSM tools.

  • Strong leadership under pressure and crisis management skills.

  • Excellent communication and executive-level stakeholder handling.

  • Readiness for 24*7 coverage & support.

Preferred to have

  • ITIL v3 / ITIL 4 certificationCertified Scrum Master

  • SAP technical or functional background (BASIS ABAP SAP Functional modules).

  • Experience with SAP on cloud platforms (AWS Azure).
