Job Summary
Expression of interest: panel of independent directors for Aboriginal medical services
Location: Northern Territory (various)
Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of Aboriginal people We are seeking independent directors who can contribute to strong high-performing Aboriginal community controlled boards.
The Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT) is the peak body for Aboriginal community controlled health services in the Northern Territory. We support and represent 27 member and associate member services across the Territory and are committed to strengthening Aboriginal community controlled primary health care to deliver culturally safe high-quality comprehensive services.
This is an opportunity to contribute your skills experience and commitment to AMSANT and/or one or more of our member health services.
What were looking for
We are seeking individuals who:
Share our vision for improved Aboriginal health outcomes and stronger communities.
Have governance experience or expertise in areas such as health finance law community development or strategic leadership.
Demonstrate a genuine commitment to Aboriginal self-determination and culturally respectful engagement.
What you can expect

Engagement with diverse communities and workplaces rich in living Aboriginal culture.
Board meetings held throughout the year with frequency varying annually.
Flexibility to attend meetings online via Microsoft Teams.
Travel costs covered for in-person meetings.
Some services offer director honorariums while some positions are voluntary.
Our process
AMSANT is establishing a talent pool of potential independent directors for AMSANT and its member services. Suitable candidates will be identified through an interview process and matched with board opportunities as they arise.
