Aurora High School is now accepting applications for the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach position for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking a passionate driven and student-centered leader for the basketball program.

The Aurora Lady Houns have claimed three consecutive district championships (and 2025) and a Big 8 Conference Title in 2024 and 2025. We are looking for a leader who can build upon this success foster a culture of teamwork and sportsmanship and inspire our student-athletes to grow both on and off the court.

Aurora R-VIII School District operates on a four-day school week (MondayThursday) and offers competitive benefits a supportive school community and a proud tradition of athletic achievement.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred
  
  
• Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
  
  
• Ability to develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program
  
  
• Commitment to fostering a positive competitive and team-oriented culture
  
  
• Knowledge of MSHSAA rules and regulations
  
  
• Ability to collaborate with administration staff and community stakeholders
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the girls basketball program including varsity JV freshman and Junior High levels. Involvement in the development of a youth program.
  
  
• Develop student-athletes in skill character and academic achievement
  
  
• Organize and execute effective practice plans and game strategies
  
  
• Build strong relationships with students families and the Aurora community
  
  
• Collaborate with the Activities Director and coaching staff to promote overall program success
  
  
• Manage program budget equipment and fundraising efforts
  
  
• Enforce academic and behavioral expectations for all student-athletes
