About the Role:
We are currently looking for Traffic Controller to join our facility in Jersey City NJ..
Responsibilities:
Reasonableaccommodationsmay be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
- Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic within the recycling facility to prevent accidents and maintain safety
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with traffic management procedures and guidelines
- Use two-way radios or other communications devices to coordinate with drivers equipment operators and other staff to manage traffic flow
- Resolve conflicts and address traffic-related issues promptly and professionally
- Maintain records of traffic incidents accidents and near-misses and report them to the appropriate authorities
- Ensure proper placement and visibility of traffic signs markings and barriers to guide and regulate traffic
- Assist in the training of new employees and contractors on traffic management and safety protocols
- Other duties may be assigned
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year minimum experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be able to read write and speak English and Spanish fluently
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- One(1)yearofpreviousrelevantworkexperiencepreferablyinthecompostorsimilarindustry
- Basic awareness of federal state and local job site health and safety rules regulations and best practices.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normalworkenvironmentisoutdoorswithexposuretoallweatherconditionsdirthighlevelsofnoise smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions including PPE.
