Job Description Summary:

Automates the end-to-end process from application build to application deployment including all aspects of the continuous integration and continuous delivery process. Liaises between operations and software engineering teams to enable them to rapidly build deploy andoperatevarious systems & infrastructure components. Installs creates and enhances automation tools that support the coding lifecycle. Utilizes full stack development skills to enable them to fully understand all aspects of the application architecture. Works closely with the agile software engineering teams for incremental product deployments and handles all deployments to the test and production environments. Intermediate professional working on projects of a moderate scope or on varied tasks that require resourcefulness self-initiative and significant independent judgement. Demonstrates a developing functional knowledge to evaluate the implications of issues and make recommendations for solutions. Guides less experienced team members.

Role Overview:

The SS&C Strategic Platform Services team is looking for aDeveloper /Engineer to join ourDevelopmentdelivery team and maximise product flow in a financially regulated environment. You will ensure our teams ongoing success by translating the strategy and designs of the wider teams into reality bybuilding AWS applications code as well ashaving involvementin automatingthe implementation of the underlying infrastructure (and its support).

As a key member of the team you will help drive the direction of our shared servicesplatformfocusing ondeliveringgreat productfeatures to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Staying up to date with industry best practices and innovation.

• Produce production quality application code that can be deployed within AWS services.

• Work with our team of product owners architects and developers to support project work and to update and release to QA/Production with software releases configuration updates and other release requirements.

• Dive deep andidentifyfailure patterns to resolve problems at their root.

• Provide high-performance cloud deployment solutions andmaintainrapid deployment pipelines server monitoring and troubleshooting.

• Identifyand implement best practices for securing various platforms.

• Work directly with the DevOps team to test system integrity.

• Design and implement build deployment and configuration management.

• Build and test automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.

• Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve.

• Providetechnical guidance and educate team members and co-workers on development and operations.

• Buildmaintainand monitor configuration standards.

• Maintain day-to-day management and administration of projects.

• Manage our Continuous Deployment pipeline.

• Document and design various processes; update existing processes.

Technologies:

Our range of products hosted on our platform is a mix of Java Spring Boot and fully automated from Development to Production utilising AWS Cloud services along with third-party tooling to complement this offering.

• Design and implement AWS-native solutions (Lambda Step FunctionsEventBridge etc.)

• Write production-grade code often in Python TypeScript/JavaScript or Go

• EC2 ECS RDS S3Cloudfront WAF API GatewayLamdbaElasticache Elasticsearch SQS SNS EKS

• CI/CD (Jenkins GitHub Python)

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform Ansible PackerHashicorpVault).

• Messaging / Data Streaming (Kafka ActiveMQ RabbitMQ)

• Monitoring (Grafana Prometheus LokiAlertmanager).

• Security applications (Qualys FireEye Sophos)

Your Experience:

• Computer Science/Engineering relatedBachelorsdegree orMastersdegree or 5 years of equivalent work-related experience

• Three years or more of industry experience

• 5 years AWS experience (in a business environment).

• 1 years experience in a DevOps role.

• 1 years experience inoperatinga production platform.

• 1 years experience in Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding ofmicroservicesdevelopment.

• Solid understanding of Typescript/Javascript LinuxWindowsand Networking layers.

• Working knowledge of AWS Step FunctionsLambdasand API Gateways.

• Working in an agile environment.

• A passion for continuous learning as well as the ability to learn quickly and apply new skills.

• Good English communication skills.

Desirable:

• SQL and NoSQL databases working set.

• Familiar with or able to quickly learn ApacheNiFi Apache Airflow Apache KafkaKeyCloak Serverless ComputingGraphQL APIs APIM.

• Good skills working with JSON XML and YAML files.

• Knowledge in Python Java awksed Ansible Salt Stack and Terraform.

• Experience working in a financially regulated environment.

• Working with clients / working in a client servicing environment
