DescriptionPurpose
Plan direct and coordinate the Speech and Language Department. Plan and maintain systems and procedures for operating efficiency. Manage staff for optimum performance. Collaborate with other managers Leadership Team Early Intervention Senior Manager and Chief Program Officer to develop and maintain quality early intervention services to children and their families. Oversee the development coordination and implementation speech and language programs at Kindering.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure appropriate department coverage for agency needs
- Seek and hire new staff with an as appropriate interview with Early Intervention Senior Manager or Chief Program Officer for the final candidate(s)
- Oversee training and evaluate new staff (department orientation mentoring training planday reviews)
- Monitor staff performance including annual performance reviews and set employee goals and objectives
- Supervise department job performance and quality of work track and manage parent and staff complaints caseloads quality indicators; develop and monitor learning goals of staff; understand morale level
- Develop staff to maximize potential (monitor consistent required skill level within department and address or provide opportunities for growth)
- Ensure staff are in compliance with Part C of IDEA King County DDD ESIT
- Participate in program planning processes
- Organize and manage department staff meetings
- Delegate work duties to staff
- Coordinate department budget activities for maximum operational efficiency
- Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency
- Participate as a part of Kinderings Leadership Team
- Create measure and report department goals and objectives aligned with Kinderings mission and goals including productivity and quality goals
- Oversee specialty programs as needed
- Communicate and collaborate with Bellevue Early Intervention Senior Manager
- Communicate to department regarding specific items as well as Leadership Team direction mission vision
- Serve as the go-to person for departmental issues and needs both from within and between departments (examples: added staffing equipment space assistance and volunteers)
- Complete other duties as assigned by Early Intervention Senior Manager
- Provide or support outreach intensive informing care planning coordination anticipatory guidance for complex health needs assistance to access services consultation resource development interagency coordination training program planning quality management and administration to support Medicaid programs.

QualificationsRequired Education & Experience
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field such as Special Education Occupational/Physical therapy or Social Work
- Ability to maintain a partial early intervention caseload while acting as a Manager
- Clinical supervision experience
- Computer software skills (excel word outlook) and ability to navigate and perform necessary computer functions to perform job duties
- WA DOH license
Minimum Prerequisites
- Pass Washington State DSHS criminal history and background check and FBI fingerprint check
- Strictly maintain the confidentiality of all client information in accordance with privacy regulations and organizational policies
- Have access to a dependable personal vehicle for transportation purposes
- Possess a valid Washington State drivers license and maintain valid automobile insurance coverage
- Be able to lift 40 pounds
- Pass tuberculosis test
- Be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified
- Provide documentation of a negative tuberculosis test result
- Provide proof of current immunizations including COVID-19 and Measles Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccines or submit a titer test result demonstrating immunity*
*Kindering requires those supervising and providing in-person services to children to be vaccinated/ or apply and be approved for a sincerely held religious belief or medical exemption.
