AWS Security Operations Centre (SOC) Software Engineering team builds and owns services that automate and power security processes within Amazon. As an SDE on the SOC Software Engineering team your role is pivotal in maintaining the robust and innovative solutions of our team. The team You will work on complex challenges in existing and new development initiatives focusing on areas with ambiguity. Your goal is to design and develop software systems that are secure maintainable scalable and extendable. You will develop an understanding of the business impact of your systems and make responsible trade-offs between the short-term operational needs and long-term business objectives. Key job responsibilities
- Write high-quality efficient and testable production code.
- Build highly available secure distributed systems at Amazon scale
- Be an end-to-end technical owner of the services you build including development testing and support.
- Make a direct contribution to planning design implementation testing operations and process improvement as a member of an Agile team.
- Be part of growing tight-knit team within a wider community of experienced and knowledgeable engineers.

- 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team

- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company Amazons package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location. Amazon offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical dental vision prescription basic life & AD&D insurance) Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP) paid time off and other resources to improve health and well-being.
