Job Summary
General Information:
Job title: Carpenter
Schedule: Full-time 80 hours per pay period; Monday Friday 7:00am 3:30pm
Weekend rotation: Weekend rotation required
Holiday rotation: Holiday rotation required
** Position participates on a call rotation with the facility services team. **
Position Summary:
The Carpenter position performs interior and exterior carpentry to maintain the outer clinics and hospital to keep everything up and running.
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform interior and exterior carpentry to maintain buildings.
- Perform remodels as requested.
- Rekey locks change doorknobs and adjust doors.
- Replace or repair windows and flooring; hang and fix cabinets.
- Assemble desks and repair desks and file cabinets.
- Assess and repair roofs as needed.
- Perform all other duties as requested.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program or completion of in-company training program to satisfaction of maintenance supervision.
- 3 years of related carpentry experience required.
- Must maintain a valid current drivers license and be MBMC insurable.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent carpentry skills required.
- Basic understanding of mechanical functions.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions.
- Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Considerable attention required to prevent injury to self and others when working on ladders and scaffolds.
