Work Schedule: Full-Time/ Day Shift/ (Mon Fri) Anticipated start date: March 30 2026.

Compensation: $24.02 - $24.02/hour an additional $5.09/hour Health and Welfare Benefit (cash payout with qualifying health insurance)

Tessera is seeking a hardworking and motivated Seasonal Grounds Maintenance Worker with a positive/helpful attitude. This is a temporary position and is expected to run up to but no longer than November 30th 2026.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Operate tractors commercial-grade riding mowers and other grounds maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Operate weed eaters blowers and other small equipment as needed.

  • Use manual or power tools as required to complete work assignments.

  • Maintain grassed areas at a uniform height ensuring cuts are even free of scalping rutting or bruising.

  • Perform trimming in conjunction with grass cutting at all designated locations.

  • Ensure clippings are not left on paved or surfaced areas.

  • Provide and maintain all grass cutting equipment including mowers tractors lawn vacuums string trimmers edgers and other necessary tools.

  • Prior to mowing pick up and remove all rubbish debris and trash including rocks paper pinecones limbs and other objects from maintenance areas shrubs hedges fences and along foundation walls.

  • Properly dispose of all collected debris trash and clippings as directed.

  • Inspect grounds for trash buildup potential fire hazards and pest activity during mowing operations.

  • Remove mowing debris and clippings from surfaced areas immediately after completion; do not use water to wash clippings from paved areas.

  • Mentor employees in a respectful and constructive manner.

  • Monitor employee performance to ensure efficient use of time task completion and understanding of assigned duties.

  • Record daily personnel attendance and report absences or tardiness to the Site Manager.

  • Observe employee conduct and report any concerns to the Site Manager.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

  • Plan and post the weekly crew schedule in advance.

  • Submit accurate weekly reports to the Quality Control (QC) department.

  • Order and pick up parts and supplies needed for grounds equipment.

  • Prepare and maintain various reports including schedules and accident reports.

  • Coach train and develop employees to ensure performance and skill growth.

  • Manage the issuance return and security of all government and company keys vehicles and phones; ensure buildings are secured and safety measures are followed when exiting.

  • Ensure quality service is provided in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Perform all duties of the Grounds Maintenance Worker as needed.

  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • All Other Duties as Assigned*

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in grounds maintenance and equipment operation including tractors commercial riding mowers and hand-held power tools with a strong focus on quality and safety.

  • Proven leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to train employees monitor performance manage schedules and attendance and address concerns professionally.

  • Strong organizational and reporting abilities including completing schedules QC reports accident reports and ordering parts and supplies as needed.

  • Detail-oriented and dependable with the ability to follow contract requirements maintain professional standards secure equipment and facilities and work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • May be required to reach kneel walk stand and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Work may require repetitive motion reaching lifting kneeling and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time climbing in and out of a vehicle and up and down stairs may also be required.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
