This position is responsible for configuring installing fitting and maintaining various fire sprinkler systems and ensuring the smooth operation of those systems.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans prepares installs and maintains piping and fire sprinkler systems composed of various materials; systems may include pipes pressure and vacuum gauges pipeline filters and valves.
Consults blueprints work orders schematics or instructions; creates working procedure based on specifications.
Gathers equipment and materials for the job.
Welds cuts bends threads solders and fits pipes.
Attaches pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets bracket systems or clamps cuts or bores holes prior to project.
Installs various types of insulation and pipe covering; safely removes and properly discards of old coverings according to hazardous waste procedures and in accordance with EPA NFPA and OSHA requirements.
Inspects fire sprinkler pipes testing for pressure and leaks; reports and/or resolves problems.
Coordinates with manager to schedule machinery maintenance repairs and installation to minimize disruption to operations.
Complies with applicable safety and building codes regulations and best practices.
Maintains records including safety logs and inspection details.
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Ability to use a variety of tools which may include blowtorches saws pipe benders and welding torches.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Any vocational training is strongly desired.
Fire protection industry experience is required.
NICET II in Water-Based Systems Layout or Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems is strongly preferred.
WA State pipe fitters trainee/ journeyman level BAT certification required.
Other Duties:
Adheres to the Code of Conduct Confidentiality Agreement and Company Safety Policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing and stretching to install and repair fire sprinkler pipes and pipe fittings.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.
Pay Rate:
$30.00 - $45.00 hourly DOE
