Markets and Securities is part of the Operations Office for EMEA that supports MUFGs core products and services including Banking (commercial/retail based payments loans derivatives trade finance) and Securities (Derivatives FX Fixed Income Equity etc.). The role of Operations Network Management is to manage the interaction between Operations MUFGs internal clients (Front Office Trading Desks etc.) and MUFG external Agent network (cash custodian etc.) and also has close ties with other support areas such as Finance Legal Compliance and Risk.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Network Management team is in a pivotal position within MUFG Securities and MUFG Bank as it is responsible for managing all Cash Custody Clearing and Execution relationships such as Nostro agents Custodians Clearing Houses Brokers E-platforms and Exchanges.

In this role you will support the Network Management team across both MUFGs Banking arm and Securities business under a dualhat arrangement. This means you will act and make decisions on behalf of both entities operating under the same remit and level of authority regardless of which entity employs you.

The primary purpose of the role is to assist with the onboarding and offboarding of Agent Bank relationships and to support all aspects of relationship management. This includes issue oversight escalation handling fee reviews due diligence processes and providing ad hoc support to senior management. The role is relationshipfocused and requires substantial analytical work ongoing monitoring and involvement in change initiatives to help ensure MUFG maximises the value of its external relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will include the following primary responsibilities:

  • Responsible: Conduct ongoing reviews of Agent Bank providers including completing annual due diligence questionnaires reviewing contracts and arranging periodic service review meetings.
  • Responsible: Coordinate documentation for new relationships including legal agreements and accountopening materials.
  • Responsible: Proactively manage incoming queries ensuring all issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible: Assist in the creation maintenance and production of Network Management MIS.
  • Responsible: Develop a strong understanding of process flows to identify workflow improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Responsible: Support regulatory and change initiatives including projects such as ISO 20022 and T1.
  • Responsible: Assist with the daytoday management of the cash and custody invoicing and recharging processes.
  • Responsible: Build strong relationships across MUFG to develop a peer network gather relevant information and support effective interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Accountable: Ensure adherence to global standards for information storage governance and dissemination.
  • Responsible: Support the onboarding of new banking accounts onto MUFG systems.

WORK EXPERIENCE

The role will include the following primary responsibilities:

  • Previous experience in Network Management or a similar role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of fronttoback transaction flows within an operational context.
  • Experience in other operational functions such as Settlements Collateral Management Trade Support or Operations Project Management would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Experience managing Cash and Custody relationships.
  • Knowledge of Derivatives clearing would be advantageous.
  • Prior experience within a toptier brokerdealer is preferable but not essential.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to independently manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (intermediate level or above).
  • Knowledge of Power BI and other Microsoft Power Platform tools would be beneficial.
  • Excellent written verbal and listening communication skills.
  • Fast learner with the ability to translate complex matters for a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Confident in representing the firm when engaging with external counterparts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Good general understanding of financial markets.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent preferred
