Job Summary
As a Logistics Manager you will be responsible for planning organizing and leading the day-to-day activities within one or more MTOE TDA SSA departments or other functional supply areas. This role involves executing daily operations training requirements monitoring employee performance and contributing to the accomplishment of short and long-term goals within all logistics areas.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Ensure all logistics activitiesincluding the movement of cargo equipment and materialsare performed according to contract requirements.
- Develop implement and manage logistics plans including shipping receiving transportation and warehousing.
- Lead teams in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure all operations meet U.S. government regulations contractual deliverables (CDRLs) and safety (HSE) standards.
- Interface with customer representatives subcontractors and vendors to manage track and report on logistics status.
- Ability to operate in harsh conditions and adapt to changing priorities quickly.
- Supervise employees during the performance of all logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies government regulations and military doctrine related to logistics Operations.
- Oversee the processing of items through the GCSS-A system resolve discrepancies and maintain databases and files in accordance with established guidelines.
- Advise the team on status issues impacts risks and cost influences while keeping the team informed of updates to safety rules and procedures.
- Provide leadership to create organizational structures and processes for service execution.
- Plan organize and lead day-to-day activities within assigned departmental or functional areas.
- Implement training requirements and monitor employee performance.
- Establish production standards monitor compliance and recommend operational improvements.
- Assist the Accountable Officer in achieving short and long-term goals for the department/function.
- Maintain employee compliance with safety policies government regulations and military doctrine.
- Ensure proper processing of items through the GCSS-A system.
- Perform causative research to resolve various receipt and issue discrepancies.
- Perform causative research to resolve discrepancies related to receipts and issues.
- Possess or obtain hazard certifications: HAZ 12 & HAZ 15.
- Possess or obtain technical transportation of hazardous material and European Hazardous material certification.
- Verify hazardous materials shipped out have a signed hazardous certification document.
- Provide expert guidance on logistics matters including compliance with regulations transportation methods and inventory management.
- Provide a strong level of customer service and promote teamwork.
- Adhere to Army regulations SOPs and military Doctrine related to all logistics operations.
- Adhere to safety procedures and policies.
- Analyze data and key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement in logistics operations.
- Maintain databases and files following established guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required Education Experience Skills and Certifications)
- Must have an Active U.S. Government issued Secret Security Clearance and maintain it for the duration of your employment on this contract. Due to this you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for this position.
- Must have a bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience or; An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience or; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience or; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
- This position is designated as a TESA (Technical Expert Status Accreditation) role. Candidates must meet all TESA eligibility requirements as defined by the U.S. Army and applicable SOFA regulations. Final approval is subject to government review and issuance of TESA status. Employment is contingent upon successfully obtaining and maintaining TESA accreditation for the duration of the assignment.
- Must have at least 3 years of experience in a lead/supervisor/management role.
- Must be proficient in the use of the GCSS-A system
- Requires proficiency in utilizing office equipment the MS Office Suite (especially Excel) for reporting daily workload data.
- Requires the ability to multitask and work with little or no supervision.
- Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking bending reaching and carrying.
- Must have a valid Drivers License.
- Requires a valid passport with at least 12 months of validity and 6 blank pages.
Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education Experience Skills and Certifications)
- Previous logistics supervisory or management experience.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management.
- Experience working in diverse and challenging environments.
- Familiarity with international trade compliance and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior logistics professionals.
