The Opportunity
Position Overview
We are excited to continue our partnership with OISE and offer internship opportunities. Ideal candidates are those who are confident working with low-income and racialized communities particularly in their interactions with the education system. Applicants should possess a good working knowledge of the Ontario curriculum and be passionate about enhancing the lives of youth within underrepresented communities and advancing STEM equity.
As an Educator Engagement Intern you will lead and support our in-school educator support activities. You will be directly involved in the co-facilitation of in-class STEM workshops with teachers as well as support the evaluation of teacher workshops at Balmoral Senior Public School in the Brampton area. Your role will also include supporting the collection analysis and reporting of survey data for teacher workshops. We strongly encourage all interested applicants to apply.

- Internship Term: February 16 2026 to June 30 2026
- Hours of Work/Schedule: Up to 10 hours a week total commitment of 90 hours

- Majority of in-person commitments will take place at Balmoral Drive Senior Public School (233 Balmoral Dr Brampton ON L6T 1V5) Greenholme Junior Middle School (10 Jamestown Crescent Etobicoke ON M9V 3M5) and Lawrence Heights Middle School (50 Highland Hill North York ON M6A 2R1)
- Reports To: Manager Educator & Caregiver Engagement
- Honorarium: Up to $2000 (depending on hours worked) with a small stipend for travel

Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Support
- Lead and support the facilitation of in-school STEM-based and professional development workshops with staff and classroom teachers.
- Support the packaging of educator engagement workshop content and materials.
- Represent the organization at workshops and partner schools.
Data Evaluation & Reporting
- Assist with the evaluation of educator engagement workshops and initiatives including collecting and analyzing feedback data.
- Prepare summary reports presentations and other materials for internal stakeholders.
Partnership & Coordination
- Liaise with classroom teachers and school administrators to coordinate scheduling and respond to inquiries and feedback.
- Contribute ideas and insights to improve the effectiveness and impact of educator engagement initiatives.
Team & Operations
- Attend weekly team meetings.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
What Were Looking For
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilitating and presenting in classroom settings.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Google Sheets and writing reports.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Good understanding of the Ontario curriculum.
- Familiarity with STEM concepts and their practical application in education.
- Capacity to address and resolve issues creatively and efficiently.
- Experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including educators students and community members.
Preferred
- Prior teaching experience is preferred but not essential.
