As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking and Wealth Management team you will play a crucial role in an agile team dedicated to enhancing building and delivering trusted market-leading technology products that are secure stable and scalable.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions including design development and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code; reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues improving overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors startups and internal teams to probe architectural designs assess technical credentials and determine applicability within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and adoption of new and leading-edge technologies
- Participates in design and code reviews incorporates security and non-functional requirements into designs and provides input on information/data flow
- Incorporates modern architectural standards into application design specifications
- Takes ownership of business-critical and complex applications
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5 years of applied experience
- Hands-on experience in system design application development testing and ensuring operational stability
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java Python SQL)
- Strong skills in automation and continuous delivery methods
- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins Sonar) application resiliency and security practices
- Demonstrated expertise in software applications and technical processes within technical domains such as cloud artificial intelligence machine learning and mobile technologies
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and related IT systems
- Exposure to UI frameworks such as Angular (version 4) or ReactJS
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases PL/SQL ORM frameworks (e.g. MyBatis Hibernate) and basic Linux/UNIX skills
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Practical cloud native experience
