Financial Accountant
Introduction
A vacancy exists for a Financial Accountant based at Life Health Solutions reporting to the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance and management of accounting processes to achieve compliance standardisation and efficiency in the function.
Critical Outputs
- Preparation of accounting reconciliations and resolving of reconciling items in the relevant accounting process
- Complete accurate and timeous processing of transactions
- Preparation of intercompany interest
- Prepare payment requisitions relating to borrowing payments
- Responsible for the preparation of accounting reconciliations and the resolution of reconciling items in relevant accounting process
- Vendor reconciliations and resolving of reconciling items in the relevant accounting process
- Review and releasing of accounts payable invoices for payment
- Monthly Journal preparation and processing
- Review and analyse the trial balance and variance analysis
- Assist/Guide bookkeepers and admins with accounting entries
- Assist the financial controller with the budget process
- Assist the financial controller with month end close process
- Ensure compliance corporate governance procedures and protocols
- Assist in special projects as requested by management
- Assist the Business in accounting related issues & attending to customers Managers/Management/Colleagues) queries and promoting a high level of customer service
- Strive to continuously improve working methods to improve standardisation and efficiencies
- Assisting internal and external auditors
- Constantly striving to improve working methods to improve standardisation and efficiencies
- Matric/Grade12
- BCom Accounting Degree qualification
- All rounded SAP experience is a prerequisite
- Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel
- SAICA/SAIPA articles are an advantage
- High performance orientation independence as well as a team player functional proficiency initiative ability to meet deadlines are essential for this position as is attention to detail and good communication
