The department of Risk Management has an exciting opportunity for a full-time healthcareRisk Analyst 1. The Risk Analyst 1 (H) supports risk management activities under the supervision of a licensed or certified Health Care Risk Manager. This role assists in identifying assessing and mitigating risks to patient safety and regulatory compliance across clinical and operational areas.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Conducts risk assessments and safety audits in assigned departments.
Analyzes incident reports and claims to identify trends and emerging risks.
Prepares basic reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.
Assists in developing and implementing risk management policies and protocols.
Supports staff training on risk management and patient safety procedures.
Participates in investigations of accidents incidents and near-misses.
Other duties as assigned.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions

Supports event and incident reporting processes in accordance with organizational state and federal requirements including accurate documentation and timely escalation.
Assists senior risk staff with medical record review and basic analysis of patient safety events across inpatient outpatient and specialty care settings.
Participates in investigations and follow-up activities related to adverse events near misses and patient grievances under direct supervision.
Assists with data collection entry and preliminary trending related to patient safety quality and risk prevention activities.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary partners including Quality Patient Safety Patient Experience and clinical staff to support assigned risk management initiatives.
Supports departmental education and training efforts related to risk reporting processes and patient safety awareness.
Performs administrative and operational support tasks necessary to maintain effective risk management workflows.
Assists on the Patient Safety Awareness Week.
Performs additional duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in relevant field required
Interest in pursuing professional development in healthcare risk management patient safety or quality improvement is encouraged.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software technology and relevant computer applications.
