The department of Risk Management has an exciting opportunity for a full-time healthcareRisk Analyst 1. The Risk Analyst 1 (H) supports risk management activities under the supervision of a licensed or certified Health Care Risk Manager. This role assists in identifying assessing and mitigating risks to patient safety and regulatory compliance across clinical and operational areas.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conducts risk assessments and safety audits in assigned departments.
- Analyzes incident reports and claims to identify trends and emerging risks.
- Prepares basic reports for leadership and regulatory bodies.
- Assists in developing and implementing risk management policies and protocols.
- Supports staff training on risk management and patient safety procedures.
- Participates in investigations of accidents incidents and near-misses.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions
- Supports event and incident reporting processes in accordance with organizational state and federal requirements including accurate documentation and timely escalation.
- Assists senior risk staff with medical record review and basic analysis of patient safety events across inpatient outpatient and specialty care settings.
- Participates in investigations and follow-up activities related to adverse events near misses and patient grievances under direct supervision.
- Assists with data collection entry and preliminary trending related to patient safety quality and risk prevention activities.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary partners including Quality Patient Safety Patient Experience and clinical staff to support assigned risk management initiatives.
- Supports departmental education and training efforts related to risk reporting processes and patient safety awareness.
- Performs administrative and operational support tasks necessary to maintain effective risk management workflows.
- Assists on the Patient Safety Awareness Week.
- Performs additional duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in relevant field required
- Interest in pursuing professional development in healthcare risk management patient safety or quality improvement is encouraged.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
