This project marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville Districts history valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. Job Title: Skid SteerOperator
Pay:Competitive compensation package based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate skid steer equipment to perform small grading backfilling and site cleanup activities in accordance with project requirements.
- Safely move load unload and place materials using bucket and fork attachments including pipe pallets spoil and construction materials.
- Assist with maintaining proper grades slopes and elevations under the direction of site supervision.
- Follow all company safety policies including taking specific action to avoid other workers equipment and potential obstructions.
- Operate equipment efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and site-specific instructions.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs to supervision.
- Maintain skid steer attachments including forks and buckets in safe working condition.
- Support other trades and crews by staging materials and maintaining organized work areas.
- Be capable and willing to perform general manual labor when not operating equipment.
- Maintain a clean orderly jobsite and comply with housekeeping standards.
- Conduct all work with 100% integrity professionalism and attention to safety.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 23 years of experience operating skid steer equipment on construction or utility job sites preferred.
- Demonstrated experience performing fine grading and material handling using skid steer buckets and forks.
- Ability to receive understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work effectively with foremen crew members and other site personnel.
- Strong commitment to contributing to a culture of safety and teamwork
Physical Requirements:
- Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials.
- Work long shifts with non-standard break times.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination quick reaction times.
- Able to work in confined or enclosed spaces.
- Able to sit for long periods of time.
- Able to wear a hard hat safety glasses gloves and safety-toed boots.
- Able to walk moderate distances to reach work area (1/2 mile or more)
- Able to Enter the cab of a vehicle that is 3.5 feet (or more) off the ground.
- Able to sit in the operators seat of equipment and safely reach all pedals switches levers buttons etc. required to safely operate the equipment (if authorized for that piece of equipment)
- Capable of sitting in the operators seat of equipment and have an adequate field of vision of all instruments gauges warning lights as well as an acceptable field of vision out of the
- windows and/or mirrors (if authorized for that piece of equipment)
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards including meeting qualitative and/or
- quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards
