We are seeking a confident enthusiastic and experienced Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Winchester starting as soon as possible. The Role
As a Year 2 Teacher you will plan deliver and assess engaging lessons across all areas of the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will foster independence resilience and positive learning behaviours while providing tailored support to pupils including those with SEND and English as an additional language. A key aspect of the role is preparing pupils for the transition into Lower Key Stage 2 ensuring they are confident capable and motivated learners.
You will work closely with teaching assistants Key Stage 1 colleagues and senior leaders to maintain consistency and high standards across the year group. Effective communication with parents and carers is essential to support pupils learning and ensure strong homeschool partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 2 curriculum
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils including SEND and EAL learners
Promote independence resilience and positive learning behaviours
Maintain a structured inclusive and positive classroom environment
Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records
Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and Key Stage 1 colleagues
Communicate regularly with parents and carers about pupil progress
Contribute to staff meetings CPD sessions and school-wide initiatives
Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities
Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Have experience teaching Key Stage 1 ideally Year 2
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be reflective proactive and adaptable
Show a strong commitment to inclusion safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Work collaboratively within a professional and supportive team
