Job Summary

LEAD DRILLER - CABLE PERCUSSION (CP)

Location: Leeds

Salary: Competitive

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday

What youll do:

At Ground Control Geotechnical Solutions (GCES) we deliver innovative sustainable and high-quality geotechnical solutions that support major infrastructure projects. Were looking for an experienced Lead Cable Percussion Drilling Operative to lead safe efficient and high-quality CP drilling operations on site.

What youll do

Operate and maintain Cable Percussion (CP) drilling rigs
Lead and supervise on-site CP drilling teams
Prepare sites set up plant and equipment and carry out drilling works
Complete open-hole drilling core drilling and rock coring
Ensure accurate sampling logging and daily records
Act as the on-site representative providing progress updates to management

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver CP drilling works safely on time and to specification
Allocate daily tasks and mentor less experienced operatives
Ensure compliance with HSE CDM and RAMS requirements
Lead toolbox talks and site safety briefings
Carry out equipment checks routine maintenance and defect reporting
Maintain high standards of quality professionalism and client satisfaction

What were looking for:

Essential

Proven experience in Cable Percussion (CP) drilling and ground investigations
Strong knowledge of open-hole core and rock coring techniques
Experience supervising site teams
Good understanding of HSE regulations and site safety requirements
Experience working on infrastructure utilities or construction projects
