Job Summary

We are seeking a patient compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Ipswich starting as soon as possible. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping pupils with additional needs access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will work with pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis supporting them in class with learning tasks social skills and emotional development. You will assist in implementing strategies outlined in pupils Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and help monitor and record progress.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEN

  • Assist with classroom learning activities and differentiated tasks

  • Support the implementation of IEP targets and strategies

  • Encourage independence resilience and positive behaviour

  • Observe and record pupil progress and provide feedback to staff

  • Support pupils social emotional and communication development

  • Collaborate with teachers teaching assistants and other professionals

  • Maintain a safe structured and nurturing learning environment
