About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated compassionate and resilient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school community within Slough Borough. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have a range of special educational needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD speech and language needs social emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). Support may be provided on a one-to-one basis or in small groups depending on the needs of the pupils.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic educational environment and understands that progress for SEN pupils is not always linear but is always meaningful.

Key Responsibilities
As an SEN Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored support to pupils with special educational needs both academically and emotionally
Supporting the class teacher in adapting lesson materials to meet individual learning needs
Implementing strategies outlined in Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils develop social and emotional skills
Supporting pupils with personal care where required in a respectful and dignified manner
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs
Assisting with transitions between lessons and supporting pupils during unstructured times
Promoting independence while offering appropriate levels of support
Creating a safe calm and inclusive learning environment
