The Role
We are seeking an experienced dedicated and highly effective Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a well-established and nurturing Independent School in Westminster. This is a full-time permanent position offering the opportunity to play a key strategic role in supporting pupils with additional needs and ensuring inclusive high-quality provision across the school.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusive education and will work closely with teaching staff senior leaders parents and external professionals to ensure every pupil is supported to achieve their full potential.
The Opportunity
This role offers the chance to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive forward-thinking school environment. You will be responsible for overseeing identification assessment and support strategies ensuring that pupils with SEND receive tailored effective interventions that promote both academic progress and wellbeing.
The SENCO will also play a central role in advising staff contributing to whole-school improvement and maintaining compliance with statutory and independent sector expectations.

We Are Looking For
A qualified teacher with QTS and a National Award for SEN Coordination (or working towards it)
Proven experience as a SENCO or in a significant SEND leadership role
Strong knowledge of SEND legislation assessment and inclusive practice
The ability to work effectively with pupils staff parents and external agencies
A proactive compassionate and highly organised professional committed to inclusive education
Excellent communication leadership and strategic planning skills
Level 5 or 7 Diploma in SPLD or equivalent
An Access Arrangements Assessor qualification at Level 7 or equivalent
