MDMS is proud to work alongside schools across Greater Manchester providing dedicated staff who help keep the school day running smoothly. We are currently recruiting Midday Meal Supervisors to support primary schools throughout the Bury borough.
While this role covers only a short part of the day its importance should not be underestimated. Lunchtime is when children refuel socialise and release energy. With the right supervision it becomes a positive and enjoyable experience that supports learning wellbeing and behaviour for the rest of the day.

The Role Explained
As a Midday Meal Supervisor in Bury you will work during the lunchtime period to oversee pupils while they eat and during indoor or outdoor play. You will follow school policies and work closely with teachers teaching assistants and senior lunchtime supervisors.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe environment encouraging positive behaviour and stepping in early to prevent problems from escalating. You will also act as a reassuring presence for children who may find lunchtime challenging.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day duties will include:
Supervising pupils during the lunch period across dining halls classrooms and playgrounds
Supporting children as they eat including helping younger pupils where appropriate
Encouraging good manners independence and respectful behaviour
Being aware of allergies dietary needs and medical requirements
Managing safe movement of pupils around the school site
Supervising outdoor play and ensuring equipment is used safely
Supporting indoor play activities during poor weather
Promoting inclusive play and positive social interaction
Managing low-level behaviour issues calmly and fairly
Helping children resolve minor disputes in a supportive way
Providing reassurance to pupils who may feel upset or anxious
Administering basic first aid when required (training provided)
Reporting accidents incidents or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate staff member
Working collaboratively with other lunchtime staff and school leaders
