Job Overview:
- As a Production Supervisor you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is successful.
- This position will be on 2nd Shift Monday through Thursday 3:00pm to 1:00am. There may be occasional overtime required on Fridays from 1:00pm to 9:00pm.
Compensation:
- 2nd Shift gets an additional $500 a month for their shift differential totaling $6000 a year.
- 5% metric bonus.
Responsibilities:
Primary duties:
- Demonstrate a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion interaction and decision.
- Create an environment that empowers team members and drives continuous improvement in a team environment focused on safety quality delivery and efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste and develop team member skills to improve lean operations.
- Provide support coaching and training to the team leaders under your supervision.
- Ensure team leaders are properly trained within 12 months.
- Ensure that team members are properly trained by their team leader or other designated trainers in their areas of responsibility including safety quality equipment operation and 5S.
- Ensure team members are tracked on the team member training matrix.
- Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics.
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.
- Interface with union stewards on contract and discipline issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience/Education:
- A minimum of 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Bachelors degree in business Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
- Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
- Previous professional internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities including providing coaching mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook Word and Excel).
- Strong problem-solving skills including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.
- Basic understanding of process control production scheduling Kaizen Kanban and Lean manufacturing are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Stooping bending standing for long periods of time manual dexterity and being able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
Preferred Qualifications:
