Job Summary

Job Title: Drafting/CAD Technician II

Location: Wilmington NC

Duration: 12 Months

Job Type: Contract

Maximum Submissions per Supplier: 3

Note: Work Environment: Employment will be through a third party on a contract basis. Contracts will be 1 year in length and are often extended with satisfactory performance and additional project workload. Hybrid work schedule available (work from home 3-4 days per week). General Windows-based computer skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience converting legacy hand-drawn or AutoCAD drawings to 3D models
Experience collecting measurements from production floor
Familiarity with sheet metal weldment and assembly drawings
Experience working in a global or multi-site manufacturing environment

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Create revise and store electronic drawing files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
Correct redlined models and drawings per drafting lead or engineering input
Convert legacy drawings into 3D models and associative drawings
Generate 2D drawings from existing 3D models
Collect and incorporate engineering and production floor data into drawings
Ensure all drawings meet company and industry drafting standards

Requirements:

Associate degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology Drafting/CAD or equivalent technical discipline (or demonstrated drafting proficiency)
Minimum 2 years of professional mechanical drafting experience
Proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting tools
Strong work ethic and ability to adapt to company standards
Excellent attention to detail
