Position Overview
The Document Control Technician Aide II III supports the organization research and maintenance of engineering records within the Transmission department. This role focuses on managing hard copy engineering drawings and records ensuring accurate documentation and alignment with company records management practices.
The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail experience working with engineering documents and proficiency in document management systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Records & Document Management
- Organize and maintain hard copy engineering drawings within the file room
- Conduct detailed research using document management systems to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Perform digital vs. hardcopy comparisons to validate documentation
- Box label and organize engineering files for proper storage
Data Entry & Documentation
- Enter and update data accurately within document management systems
- Ensure precise documentation for Transmission engineering records
- Support records management compliance practices
Collaboration & Coordination
- Collaborate with engineering design groups document control teams and records management staff
- Follow established procedures for records organization and retention
Physical Requirements & Support Tasks
- Lift and relocate boxes weighing up to 30 pounds
- Access higher shelving using a step ladder or stool as needed
- Maintain personal timekeeping using company timekeeping systems
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience working with engineering records or document control
- Familiarity with Transmission engineering documentation preferred
- Foundational understanding of records management practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Excel Word)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple teams
