Technology Architect

Role Overview

The client is seeking a Senior Technology Architect to lead the design and implementation of Azure based enterprise and hybrid cloud solutions supporting large scale public sector programs.

The role focuses on cloud architecture system integration data platforms security governance and stakeholder engagement with responsibility for advising senior leadership on technical strategy and solution options.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure cloud architectures using SaaS and PaaS services across enterprise and hybrid environments

• Lead solution design covering identity governance networking security monitoring data storage and integration

• Architect and integrate Azure solutions with on premise mid tier and mainframe systems using REST and SOAP APIs

• Perform architecture options analysis risk assessments and cost optimization reviews to support senior management decisions

• Define and enforce Azure best practices for performance scalability reliability and cost management

• Design API centric and microservices based architectures using Azure native services

• Provide architectural leadership for high sensitivity data assets including security and risk mitigation strategies

• Lead integration efforts involving Azure Data Factory Azure Synapse Azure Data Lake Azure SQL Cosmos DB and related services

• Collaborate with security privacy architecture CIO office PMO and external vendors across multiple lines of business

• Support projects delivered through hybrid agile models providing architectural governance and technical oversight

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and produce architecture diagrams design documents and technical specifications

• Guide development and DevOps teams on Azure DevOps CI CD automation and deployment standards

Required Skills and Experience

Mandatory Experience

• 7 years designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Azure

• 7 years working with cloud based SaaS and PaaS solutions in hybrid environments

• Experience designing Azure solutions covering identity governance security networking monitoring and data platforms

• Strong experience with Azure services including Azure VMs Azure SQL Storage Accounts NSGs Data Lake Data Factory Synapse Analytics

• Experience integrating Azure with external systems using REST and SOAP APIs

• 15 years working with enterprise databases including data modeling PL SQL development performance tuning and administration

• Experience architecting solutions for high sensitivity data with strong security and risk controls

• Proven stakeholder management experience across security privacy architecture executive leadership and governance bodies

• Experience working within Ontario Public Service policies and standards
