Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP) William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) 18511 Highlander Medics St Fort Bliss TX 79906 and outlying clinics.
Tentative Start Date: 1 April 2026
No. of FTEs Required: 4 FTEs
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0500-1630 (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours as authorized by the Government.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Graduate of an academic program accredited by a nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years practicing as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care such as family practice internal medicine or general medicine.
- Experience performing comprehensive medical assessments evaluations and clinical decision-making for adult patients.
- Experience reviewing medical histories conducting physical examinations diagnosing acute and chronic conditions and developing treatment plans.
- License / Certification:
- Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA or Red Cross (online-only certifications not accepted).
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required.
- Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive medical evaluations and physical examinations in support of Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) mobilization demobilization redeployment and separation health assessments.
- Review and assess medical histories Deployment Health Assessments (DHA) Periodic Health Assessments (PHA) Separation Health and Physical Examinations (SHPE) electronic health records (EHR) and profiling documentation.
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with established clinical guidelines and military medical readiness standards.
- Determine medical deploy ability and clearance status identifying non-deployable conditions and coordinating appropriate follow-up care or referrals.
- Order review and interpret diagnostic tests laboratory results and imaging studies; ensure timely follow-up on abnormal findings.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans within granted clinical privileges and scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with physicians physician assistants nurses case managers and ancillary staff to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Maintain accurate complete and timely clinical documentation in MHS GENESIS closing encounters by the end of the duty day or within 24 hours.
- Meet productivity and patient throughput expectations in a fast-paced high-volume readiness environment.
- Participate in quality assurance activities peer reviews and performance improvement initiatives as required.
- Comply with all Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Health Agency (DHA) Army and Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) policies procedures and clinical standards.
- Complete all required onboarding annual training credentialing privileging immunizations and readiness requirements.
- Support surge operations and mission-driven schedule adjustments during peak mobilization or demobilization periods.
