Location: Soldier Readiness Processing Center (SRP) William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) 18511 Highlander Medics St Fort Bliss TX 79906 and outlying clinics.
Tentative Start Date: 1 April 2026
No. of FTEs Required: 6 FTEs
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0500-1630 (SRP operational hours). Up to 48 mission-driven overage hours per FTE may be required annually beyond regularly scheduled duty hours as authorized by the Government.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program recognized by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
- Master s degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent PA degree.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience within the last two (2) years practicing as a Physician Assistant in primary care family practice internal medicine occupational health or general medicine.
- Experience performing comprehensive medical evaluations history and physical examinations and clinical decision-making for adult patients.
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions developing treatment plans and managing follow-up care.
- Experience working in high-volume clinical environments is required
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with physicians nurse practitioners nurses and ancillary staff.
- License / Certification:
- Current unrestricted Physician Assistant license in any U.S. state or territory.
- Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician s Assistants (NCCPA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required.
- Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations in support of Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) mobilization demobilization redeployment and separation health assessments.
- Review and evaluate medical records Deployment Health Assessments (DHA) Periodic Health Assessments (PHA) Separation Health and Physical Examinations (SHPE) and profiling documentation to determine medical readiness and deploy ability.
- Diagnose treat and manage acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with established clinical guidelines Army regulations and Defense Health Agency (DHA) standards.
- Identify non-deployable medical conditions and coordinate referrals follow-up care or additional evaluations as required.
- Order interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests laboratory studies and imaging; ensure timely review and appropriate clinical follow-up.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans within approved clinical privileges and scope of practice.
- Collaborate with supervising physicians nurse practitioners case managers nurses and ancillary staff to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
- Accurately document all patient encounters in MHS GENESIS ensuring records are complete timely and closed in accordance with MTF policy.
- Meet expected productivity standards and patient throughput requirements in a fast-paced mission-driven readiness environment.
- Participate in quality assurance activities peer reviews and performance improvement initiatives as directed.
- Comply with all applicable DoD Army DHA and Medical Treatment Facility policies procedures and clinical standards.
- Complete all required onboarding actions credentialing privileging immunizations annual training and readiness requirements.
- Record time worked in DMHRSi or other Government-designated timekeeping systems.
- Support surge operations and extended hours during peak MOB/DEMOB or SRP mission cycles as required.
