Job Summary
Job Title: Product Development Manager / Paint Product Innovation Manager
Department: R&D / Product Development
Reporting To: Head R&D / Technical Director
Job Summary
The Product Development Manager / Paint Product Innovation Manager is responsible for
developing improving and commercializing paint and coating products in line with market
trends customer requirements quality standards and cost targets. This role bridges R&D
production marketing and sales ensuring timely introduction of innovative and
competitive paint products.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Innovation
Develop new decorative industrial protective and specialty paint products as per
market demand.
Improve existing formulations for performance cost optimization and sustainability.
Research and implement new raw materials resins pigments additives and
technologies.
Lead product innovation initiatives aligned with company growth strategy.
R&D & Technical Management
Conduct laboratory trials pilot batches and scale-up activities.
Ensure compliance with BIS ISO ASTM and customer specifications.
Prepare and maintain formulation documents SOPs and technical data sheets (TDS).
Troubleshoot technical issues related to product quality application or
performance.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with Production for smooth commercialization and batch consistency.
Support Marketing & Sales with product positioning demos and technical training.
Assist in customer trials approvals and technical presentations.
Coordinate with procurement for raw material evaluation and alternate sourcing.
Quality Compliance & Safety
Ensure products meet quality environmental and safety regulations.
Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
Support audits and certifications related to R&D and product compliance.
Team & Project Management
Lead and mentor R&D chemists and technicians.
Manage multiple projects with clear timelines and deliverables.
Track project progress and report to management periodically.

Required Qualifications
/ in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Chemical Engineering
Certification or specialization in Paint Technology / Coatings is an added advantage
Experience
8 15 years of experience in paint/coatings product development or R&D
Strong exposure to decorative paints industrial coatings or protective coatings
Experience in scaling lab formulations to commercial production
/ in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Chemical Engineering
Certification or specialization in Paint Technology / Coatings is an added advantage
Experience
8 15 years of experience in paint/coatings product development or R&D
Strong exposure to decorative paints industrial coatings or protective coatings
