QA Manual Engineer (Mid-level)

Were supporting a client on a mid-level Manual QA Engineer role within a large European tech platform operating at scale. This is a direct B2B contract with the client working on high-traffic consumer platforms used daily by millions.

Youll join a core product engineering team responsible for delivering reliable user-facing mobile and web experiences. This is not checkbox testing your work will have a direct impact on product quality stability and user trust.

Tasks

• Manually test mobile applications (iOS & Android) and related backend services to ensure high quality and reliability.
• Design execute and maintain manual test cases test plans and test scenarios.
• Perform functional regression exploratory and smoke testing across releases.
• Validate APIs using tools like Postman ensuring correct behavior data integrity and error handling.
• Inspect and debug network traffic using tools such as Charles Proxy to identify backend and integration issues.
• Log track and verify defects using JIRA working closely with engineers to ensure clear reproduction steps and resolution.
• Collaborate with developers product managers and designers to clarify requirements and ensure shared quality standards.
• Actively participate in release cycles helping ensure smooth and stable production deployments.
• Proactively suggest improvements to testing processes coverage and tooling.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in a Manual QA or QA Engineer role.
• Strong experience testing mobile applications (iOS & Android).
• Solid understanding of manual testing methodologies and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA and test management tools such as XRAY.
• Practical experience with API testing (Postman or similar tools).
• Familiarity with network debugging tools (Charles Proxy or equivalent).
• Strong attention to detail analytical thinking and a user-first mindset.
• Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally within a collaborative team.
• Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of quality.

Nice to have:

• Basic knowledge of JavaScript (reading code simple scripts).
• Exposure to automated testing or interest in growing toward test automation.
• Experience testing high-traffic or consumer-facing platforms.
• Familiarity with Agile / Scrum environments.
