As AI Business Systems Engineer (m/f(d) - Build and operate AI-powered business systems that automate high-impact workflows across the company. This role exists to discover bottlenecks and failure points directly with teams translate them into clear problem statements and solution options and ship reliable automations/internal tools that remove manual work and increase execution speed across Marketing Operations/Finance HR and Market Intelligence.
Discovery & problem definition (weekly): run structured interviews and shadowing with business users; map as-is workflows identify bottlenecks root causes and failure modes; translate into clear problem statements and measurable success criteria.
Solution design & proposal (weekly): present solution options (quick wins vs. scalable) effort/impact estimates risks (especially security/data) and an execution plan; align stakeholders before building.
Prioritization & adoption (weekly): run a short weekly prioritization sync (CEO key stakeholders); ensure workflows are adopted used and improved based on feedback.
Workflow automation & orchestration (ongoing): build and maintain n8n automations that connect systems and AI services; handle scheduling retries rate limits authentication and safe execution.
Internal tools & dashboards (ongoing): build lightweight internal UIs/dashboards with a high-output AI-assisted build workflow while maintaining reliability maintainability and good performance for non-technical users.
Operational reliability (ongoing): implement monitoring alerting logging QA sampling and clear failure handling/rollback so workflows stay stable in daily use.
Documentation & maintainability (ongoing): maintain concise documentation per workflow (problem purpose inputs/outputs variables how to modify failure modes) so systems are transferable.

Automation & orchestration: strong workflow automation skills (n8n or comparable) and API integration expertise (REST/webhooks auth pagination retries rate limits scheduling).
High-output engineering: proven ability to ship functional internal tools fast using an AI-assisted vibe coding workflow (rapid prototyping pragmatic 80/20) while maintaining reliability and maintainability.
AI/LLM in production: strong ability to design LLM-powered workflows with validation guardrails and human-in-the-loop patterns where needed.
Data quality & performance: strong SQL-based validation and safe transformations; understands data quality checks pipeline hygiene and performance implications.
Internal UI building: proven ability to build usable internal UIs for non-technical users (React or comparable) with stable maintainable code and good performance.
Security discipline: understands access control and secrets management; implements least-privilege safe credential handling and auditability.
Familiarity with marketing/ads APIs (Meta Google TikTok) and/or DSP reporting APIs
Experience in startups/scale-ups with fast iteration cycles
Strong consultative problem solving (asks the right questions finds root causes proposes practical solutions)
High ownership and accountability (ships and maintains not just prototypes)
Structured thinking under ambiguity (can scope define success criteria and execute)
Strong stakeholder communication (translates business pain into working systems; aligns before building)

37 years in automation systems engineering ops engineering growth engineering or similar high-output builder roles
Education requirement: Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Informatics Computer Science Software Engineering Information Systems or a closely related field (or demonstrably equivalent professional training)
Proven ability to design clean maintainable systems (not just prototypes) including basic software engineering principles (modularity testing code quality performance security)
Demonstrated track record shipping internal tools/automations that are used in daily work by non-technical teams
Experience operating production workflows (monitoring failures iteration documentation)
Startup/scale-up experience strongly preferred
