Job Description

Senior Data Engineer (with AI) - REMOTE

Remote or 1 day in office if in Charlotte

12 months

Required Skills & Qualifications:

7 years of experience in Data Engineering
5 years working within AWS Cloud (Glue Kafka S3 Lambda Step Functions CloudFormation
2 years working with AI/ML concepts pipeline focused
- Must have hands-on experience building understanding and documenting AI solutions
- Familiarity with core AI tooling workflows and basic artifacts (e.g. model documentation and configuration files).
- Must have experience with MD Markdowns
- Must have AI/ML pipeline integration experience
Must have used or able to provide a GitHub Repo
Strong proficiency in Python SQL and PySpark is required
Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices in cloud environments.
2 years in regulated industry preferably banking/financial services
Data Engineering Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to understand problem statements apply structured thinking and design effective data engineering solutions; depth of reasoning and approach is prioritized over code syntax.
Practical AI Engineering Experience: Hands-on experience building understanding and documenting AI solutions including familiarity with core AI tooling workflows and basic artifacts (e.g. model documentation and configuration files).

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Data Analytics Solutions Architect).
Familiarity with containerization (Docker ECS) and orchestration tools (Airflow EMR).
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards.
