Job Summary

We are hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for one of our clients in Palo Alto CA and Menlo Park CA.

Job Description:

Administer medications monitor patient conditions and provide care in accordance with VA guidelines.
Support RNs in patient care to ensure services align with facility and VA standards.
Compliance & Safety
Follow all VA CDC OSHA and Infection Control protocols including mandatory immunizations bloodborne pathogen training and influenza vaccine requirements.
Complete all VA-mandated annual training (compliance ethics infection control safety/security HIPAA etc.
Maintain accurate records and documentation to meet federal and facility requirements.

Team Collaboration

Coordinate with RNs administrative staff and contractors to ensure seamless patient care operations.
Participate in staff meetings training sessions and briefings as required.
Abide by the facility Medical Staff By-Laws rules and regulations.

Experience required:

All LPNs will have a minimum of 2 years recent experience.
The contractor shall provide contract staffing for 6 LPNs to provide nursing services on site in accordance with specifications contained herein to beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) located at VA Palo Alto Healthcare System (Palo Alto and Menlo Park campuses).

Qualifications:

Staff/Facility

Technical Proficiency: Contractors licensed practical nurses to be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the governments requirements including the ability to speak understand read and write English fluently.
Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing licensure skills and certification related to the provision of services performed.
Contractor shall provide verifiable evidence of all educational and training experiences including any gaps in educational history for all Contractors registered nurses and licensed practical nurses.
Contractors LPNs shall be responsible for abiding by the Facilitys Medical Staff By-Laws rules and regulations (referenced herein) that govern the medical staff behavior

VA Hours Of Operation/Scheduling

VA Business Hours: Multiple Shifts to include: 0700 AM-0330 PM; 0730AM-4000PM; 0800AM-0430PM; 1030AM-0700PM; 1130AM-0800PM; 1230PM-900PM; 0330PM-1200AM.
Contract personnel shall be available and present during normal VAPAHCS hours which will be established and may be revised as deemed appropriate for safe patient care.
Currently normal operating hours are twenty-four hours per day for 7 days per week.
Based on requirements and history the schedule shifts will be 8 10 or 12 hours.
The contract employees will not work over 40 hours per week.
Contract employees will receive their schedule 2-4 weeks in advance.
This can change due to patient care needs.
- Off-hours Coverage: Contractors will not be on-call.
- Length of shifts: There will be multiple differing shifts based on patient need.
- Holidays and Overtime: There will be no holiday or overtime scheduled or authorized for payment.
