Job Title: Material Handler / Forklift Operator (1st Shift)
Department: Warehouse & Logistics
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range: $20.00 $23.50 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: 1st Shift (exact hours set by site); occasional OT as needed
Position Summary:
Move store and distribute raw materials parts and finished goods to support bus manufacturing operations. Operate forklifts/hoists/hand trucks transact inventory in the ERP and deliver materials to production on time while following all safety and quality guidelines.
Essential Duties:

Pull and stage materials to work orders and production schedules.

Load unload and transport materials using forklifts and other material-handling equipment.

Replenish assembly materials (min/max simulations put-away) and pull kits to sales orders/production schedule.

Organize bins and work centers (label placement consistent labeling bin size floor space utilization).

Receive inspect and verify incoming shipments; identify/report damage or discrepancies.
-
Maintain accurate inventory transactions in the ERP system; support cycle counts and physical inventory.

Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials per company policy.

Coordinate with warehouse/production to prevent shortages and delays; deliver components as needed.

Keep aisles racks docks and staging areas clean and safe (5S/housekeeping).
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control.
-
Safe operation of forklifts and material-handling equipment; knowledge of rigging basics a plus.

Familiarity with materials (mild/stainless steel) and packaging/handling requirements.
-
ERP proficiency for issuing/receiving/moves; basic Excel/Office skills.

Strong communication teamwork and urgency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Able to lift carry push and pull materials safely and repeatedly.
Education & Experience:

High school diploma or GED.
-
1 3 years in material handling/warehousing/logistics (manufacturing preferred).
-
Current forklift certification preferred (or willingness to obtain promptly).
Physical & Work Environment:
-
Frequent standing/walking; bending reaching and climbing on/off equipment.

Regular lifting up to 50 lbs (heavier with assistance or equipment).
-
Manufacturing floor with moving equipment noise dust and varying temperatures; PPE required.
