Job Summary

Job Title: Java Spring Boot Microservices Developer (Kafka REST APIs Judicial Systems)

Location: Annapolis MD(Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Responsibilities

Analyze and evaluate user-reported issues collaborating with team members to conduct system reviews and resolve problems accurately and within required timelines.
Perform effectively in a fast-paced collaborative team-oriented environment.
Develop and maintain comprehensive unit test coverage to ensure code quality.
Identify troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.
Ensure all solutions meet established design standards and technical requirements.
Create clear well-structured technical documentation for each microservice.
Share knowledge best practices and technical insights across teams.
Design develop and deploy microservices using the Spring Boot framework.
Adhere to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Integrate microservices with relational and non-relational databases.
Implement event-driven architectures using technologies such as Kafka.
Prepare and submit reports in JIS-prescribed formats including:
a. Weekly activity reports detailing progress on assigned programs/projects for review by the JIS Enterprise Architect (reporting frequency subject to adjustment).
b. Weekly time reporting using JIS-provided templates and any additional reports as required by the supervising manager.

Skills Experience & Capabilities

Hands-on experience with Spring framework components including Spring Data Spring Security Spring HATEOAS Spring REST Spring for Apache Kafka and JPA Criteria Queries.
Experience software development tools and design patterns including Git Swagger PCF and RabbitMQ.
Strong expertise in API development using RESTful web services.
Proficient in JSON and YAML configuration and data formats.
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices for build deployment and release automation.
Experience in common software design patterns and tools including Git Swagger PCF and messaging frameworks.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers end users vendors and all levels of management.
Proven experience in designing and implementing microservices-based architectures using modern Java frameworks.
Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ for asynchronous messaging and event-driven application design.
Experience leveraging Apache Kafka for real-time data streaming and event processing solutions.
Working knowledge of Elasticsearch for search indexing and analytics use cases.
Strong expertise in RESTful API design development and system integration.
In-depth knowledge of the Spring Boot framework and strong proficiency in Java programming.
