Job Summary
The Geotechnical Engineer (P.E.) will manage and lead geotechnical engineering projects including field investigations report preparation design support and construction-phase services. This role involves project management client coordination and technical oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan perform and oversee geotechnical investigations and field exploration programs
- Coordinate drilling sampling and laboratory testing of soil and rock
- Analyze subsurface conditions and develop geotechnical engineering recommendations
- Prepare review and seal geotechnical engineering reports
- Provide foundation design earthwork and site development recommendations
- Coordinate with clients contractors architects and design teams
- Manage project schedules budgets and quality control
- Lead client meetings and maintain client relationships
- Assist with proposal development and business development efforts
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Provide construction-phase geotechnical engineering support
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required (Texas license preferred or ability to obtain)
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field
- 4 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Experience with field investigations drilling programs and laboratory testing
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics foundations earthwork and site development
- Experience preparing geotechnical engineering reports
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Texas soil and subsurface conditions
- Experience with commercial industrial or municipal projects
- Experience with geotechnical analysis and design software
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
