Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and machining processes with the ability to operate CNC lathes and milling machines. This role requires precision attention to detail and a solid understanding of mechanical principles to produce high-quality components that meet strict specifications. 2nd shift opening
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines including lathes and milling machines to manufacture parts according to specifications.
- Interpret and read blueprints technical drawings and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
- Perform CNC programming and CAM programming for various machining operations.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accuracy of machined parts.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machinery and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards in manufacturing processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Assist in assembly processes as needed and support the production team with various tasks.
Skills
- Proficient in CNC programming and operation of CNC milling machines and lathes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in machining processes including electrical discharge machining and plastics injection molding.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks CAD software and CAM programming tools.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining dimensions and tolerances.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers micrometers bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines.
- Knowledge of tooling techniques and hand tools relevant to machining tasks.
- Familiarity with welding processes is a plus.
