Position Overview: - We are seeking a Production Machinist I to support manufacturing operations by performing precision machining and metal fabrication work. This role involves operating CNC and manual machining equipment to produce parts that meet required specifications and tolerances.
- The ideal candidate will have machining experience the ability to read blueprints and a strong understanding of machining processes and measurement tools.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform precision machining operations on parts with straightforward configurations and tolerances.
- Interpret work orders blueprints and instructions to determine machining processes and the sequence of operations.
- Set up and operate machining equipment including:
- Lathes
- Milling machines
- Grinders
- Metal cutting saws
- Select appropriate cutting tools materials feeds and speeds based on job specifications.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools such as:
- Micrometers
- Verniers
- Gauges
- Indicators
- Calipers
- Perform repetitive production work while maintaining dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
- Work with higher-level machinists to improve machining methods and production processes.
- Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow all safety procedures.
Qualifications: Education & Experience: - High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of machining experience and/or training
- Technical school apprenticeship or equivalent CNC machining experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
Technical Skills: - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions
- Understanding of machining principles tolerances and materials
- Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters
- Familiarity with machining reference materials such as the Machinist Handbook
Additional Preferred Skills: - Basic CNC programming knowledge
- Experience with production machining environments
Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands arms and manual dexterity
- Occasional bending kneeling crouching or climbing
Work Environment: - This role operates in a manufacturing environment where employees may be exposed to:
- Moving mechanical parts
- Metal chips and abrasive particles
- Coolants and lubricants
- Airborne dust and fumes
- Elevated noise levels
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses gloves hearing protection respirators and safety shoes may be required.
Additional Requirements: - Math assessment must be submitted with the resume
- Ability to work independently after approximately 4 6 months of training
