Job Title: Multimedia Developer / Designer / Producer

The Multimedia Developer / Designer / Producer supports the National Science Foundations (NSF) Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) by producing high-quality video and multimedia content that communicates NSFs mission research investments and scientific impact to diverse audiences. This role supports live and recorded productions digital distribution and multimedia storytelling across web social media broadcast and event platforms.

This position supports a federal government contract and works closely with communications staff scientists leadership and external partners to deliver accessible engaging and technically sound multimedia products.

The Multimedia Developer / Designer / Producer is responsible for end-to-end video and multimedia production including planning filming directing editing and distribution. The role requires strong technical production skills creative judgment and experience producing content in both studio and field environments while adhering to federal accessibility branding and quality standards.

• Plan coordinate and produce live and recorded video productions in studio field and event settings.
• Set up operate and maintain cameras lighting audio and teleprompter systems.
• Direct non-professional talent including scientists leadership and staff during video shoots.
• Edit video content using Adobe Premiere Pro to produce polished broadcast- and web-ready products.
• Create and integrate graphics animations music and sound effects using Adobe After Effects and Photoshop.
• Perform color correction audio mixing and quality control to ensure professional production standards.
• Prepare and deliver final video and audio files optimized for web social media and broadcast distribution.
• Post and manage multimedia content with appropriate metadata captions transcripts and accessibility elements.
• Support archiving file management and digital asset management systems to ensure long-term accessibility and reuse.
• Assist with livestreaming and multi-camera productions for events briefings and public engagements.

• Five (5) or more years of professional video and multimedia production experience.
• Mastery of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
• Intermediate proficiency with Adobe Photoshop.
• Demonstrated experience operating studio and field production equipment including cameras lighting and audio systems.
• Experience livestreaming multi-camera events.
• On-camera hosting or narration experience.
• Strong creative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly in live or time-sensitive production environments.

• Experience producing content for science research or federal organizations.
• Familiarity with federal accessibility requirements including captioning and Section 508 compliance.
• Experience working in fast-paced deadline-driven communications environments.
• Knowledge of digital asset management systems and multimedia archiving best practices.

• Place of Performance: Primarily on-site at NSF Headquarters in Alexandria VA with limited telework as approved by the Contracting Officers Representative (COR).
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday standard business hours with occasional extended hours for live events or productions.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
