Key Responsibilities (Read this carefully) 1. Functional Safety Lifecycle Ownership
- Lead end-to-end functional safety lifecycle from Concept Decommissioning
- Define and maintain Item Definition HARA FSC TSC Safety Plans
- Translate safety goals into technical safety requirements across HW/SW/System
- Perform HARA independently (ASIL A D QM justification)
- Drive ASIL decomposition freedom from interference redundancy concepts
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 Parts
- Handle change impact analysis without breaking traceability
- Work directly with System Hardware and Software architects
- Review and challenge:
- HW safety mechanisms (diagnostics fault detection coverage)
- SW safety mechanisms (watchdogs end-to-end protection monitoring)
- Evaluate FMEDA FMEA FTA and call out weak assumptions
- Define safety verification & validation strategy
- Review test plans safety test cases and coverage
- Lead functional safety assessments and audits
- Interface with OEMs Tier-1s and external assessors
- Create and maintain Safety Plan
- Track safety deliverables deviations and open risks
- Train and mentor junior engineers (youre expected to be the authority)
- 8 10 years hands-on Functional Safety experience
- Strong proven experience with ISO 26262 (ASIL B D)
- Deep understanding of HARA FSC TSC FMEDA FTA FMEA
- Experience handling safety audits and assessments
- Strong system engineering background
- Solid understanding of:
- Embedded systems
- Microcontrollers / SoCs
- HW/SW interfaces
- Ability to read and challenge schematics SW architecture and requirements
- Requirements tools: DOORS / Polarion / Jama (at least one)
- Safety analysis tools (Medini Ansys or equivalent)
- Strong traceability and configuration management discipline
