Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Quality Assurance is the focal point and maintains responsibility for all departments within the Quality organization that are directly involved in hardware execution. This includes managing the Quality Engineering and Quality Control organizations who ensure the Quality Management System is implemented on programs and customer and program specific quality requirements are being met. The Sr Manager is also responsible for management supervision hiring and performance management of the Quality Assurance Engineers Quality Technicians and Quality Control Inspectors and other individuals as assigned. This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by the Director Quality Assurance and is evaluated on results obtained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the hardware execution aspects of the Quality Assurance department.
- Execute Quality Assurance activities in accordance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
- Assist the Director of Quality Assurance in execution of the QA org vision and mission and provide limited leadership duties as assigned
- Help define and maintain the culture of SEAKR and the QA organization
- Evaluate non-conformances to identify root cause(s) and corrective/preventive action(s).
- Lead Material Review Board and Failure Review Board activities.
- Analyze quality data and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead internal and customer corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and support Lean initiatives.
- Review and evaluate Quality Engineering personnel performance.
- Establish department goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on company priorities and needs.
- Supervise train and develop Quality Assurance engineers.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in technical field or equivalent experience.
- 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Detailed knowledge of high reliability / aerospace workmanship and manufacturing are required.
- Knowledge of companys operations as they relate to ensuring customer quality expectations and requirements are met.
- Knowledge of a variety of software applications including MS Word MS Excel and general E-Mail concepts.
- Comfortable representing the Quality Assurance department in front of senior and executive level leadership.
- Ability to professionally interact with internal and external customers.
- Ability to successfully operate as part of a multi-functional team including engineering program management and manufacturing.
- Ability to work with various customer representatives on quality issues and investigations.
- Ability to review company engineering documentation to ensure company and customer quality requirements are being met.
- Ability to lead a team including annual performance reviews hiring and similar personnel management duties
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience inspecting electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620. Active certification to these standards is desired.
- Strong knowledge of electronic assembly manufacturing and inspection processes involving complex surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assemblies.
- Familiarity with ESD and FOD controls soldering processes AOI/X-ray inspection and test procedures.
- Experience in manufacturing and testing of complex spacecraft systems.
- Experience being audited to quality standards by internal and 3rd party organizations.
Additional Information :
Compensation: Base salary range is $140000- $190000 depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical dental and vision insurance plans along with a generous 401(k) retirement addition to base salary employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave such as vacation sick bereavement and FMLA.
